Bench Light
I've needed a good task light for my work bench for... well, forever. Through the insane generosity of a good friend, I procured a first-generation shell (and switch and optic and circuit holder!) from a bicycle light project. I mounted it on a Loc-Line stalk, and the wire runs down the tubing and through the bench where it is powered by a 12V switching wall wart. The light contains 3xSSC P4 emitters, and is driven by a bFlex. Fully adjustable brightness, and with auto-sleep. These certainly are not great pictures of it, but you get the idea. It can produce far more light than I typically need. But you know what they say - you can never have too much money, or too much light. ;)
Both pictures are taken with the camera flash on. The image on the left shows the light putting out about 200mA to the three emitters. You can see a slightly bright patch on the bench. In the right-hand image, the light is putting out about 750mA, and even with the camera flash, you can see that it is quite a bit of extra light!
