Closet Light

Ten years ago, I added an auto-on/off occupancy switch to our walk-in closet light. Amazingly convenient since the room ALWAYS needs light when you are inside. The draw-back? Would not work with anything but incandescent. So while I was changing out all the other lights in the house, I was left with 120W of incandescent in the closet. I decided to bite the bullet and go whole-hog with this light and cut the draw from 120W to 12W... with LEDs of course. I am still looking for the perfect auto-on/off switch to use with this, but in the meantime, I at least have one that is auto-off.

This cheap fixture came with the house and sported two 60W incandescent bulbs. Now it is 12 Cree XRE emitters with a 700 mA Xitanium driver (two strings of six are in parallel for 350 mA to each emitter).

The camera sure doesn't like to do this. This shows the two reds that warm the light and increase the CRI a bit. Makes the light much less harsh.

Not much to see. It is tons of light. At least as much useful light as what I had before with 120W.
