LED efficiency (thanks Don!)

-
Incandescent produces about 17 lumens per Watt.
Compact Fluorescents are at about 60 lumens per Watt. (about 4 times as
efficient as incandescent.)
-
In 2004, the Luxeon star promised minimum 13.9 lumen, typical
25 lumen at 350 mA. (In 2007, we can get this same amount of light at roughly
80 mA and less than a quarter watt, no heatsinking required).
-
In 2007, the SSC P4 becomes the first emitter
to surpass the efficacy of CFL: link
-
U-bin SSC P4 - 91-118 lumen at 350 mA, up to
240 lumen at 1A
-
Q5 Cree XR-E - 107-114 lumen at 350 mA, up
to 273 lumen at 1A
